Clusterfest!

So, we've covered what I was doing last Friday, but where were the boys, you ask? Well, they were doing THIS:

Yes, they rocked it duo-style at the Clusterfest music festival at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Lucky dogs!

Clusterfest featured 11 different bands, including headliner Sleigh Bells and local favorite Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears - and The Staylyns were on the bill! How sweet is that?? Not only did Johnny and Joey get to play on the same lineup with both established and up-and-coming signed bands, but they also were interviewed for SU's radio station, which they thoroughly enjoyed:

It's so exciting to get to play such a cool event and get to be part of the festival experience. I'm so bummed that I missed it! But
I hope we'll be doing many more of those. And it's a real testament to our band that we have the flexibility to play different versions of our show - full-band electric, three-piece acoustic, or duo in either electric or acoustic. It's really opening up a lot of opportunities for us that we can be flexible, and that's paying off.

Here are a few more shots of the boys doin' their thang:

The radio shot was taken by Ashley Kraft, but all of the other photos were captured by the very talented Carlos Barron Jr. Boy's got mad skillz!

So who do you think had more fun last Friday?

  2. LOVE the first pic with Johnny's hair almost "mo-hawking" as he's playing. And Joey holding the cymbals. All we're missing is our girl rockin' the bass.

You are right - versatility is a big plus! Congrats on Clusterfest!

  3. Versatility is great, but you were definitely missed! (And, btw, that's Kraft with a K) I will now prove that I am not a robot...
