Johnny Austin Dixie

We have welcomed the newest member of The Staylyns family! A keyboardist? No. An accordian player? No. Roadie? No.

It's a new guitar, of course! The talented folks at Moniker Guitars finished Johnny's custom guitar this past week, and he debuted it at our Junior's show on Friday night. So, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, the Johnny Austin Dixie!

The Moniker folks included us in the creation of this beauty by sending us photos as it went through construction, and we wanted to share the process with you. It started with Johnny designing what he wanted, and then he turned it over to Moniker to turn his vision into reality.

The vision
The body
Prepped for paint
Custom paint
Pinstriped!
The "J" hole (as opposed to the standard issue "F" hole. Get it? J for Johnny?)
Chromed up
Ready for glory. Work it!
Doing what it was made to do.
Johnny says it plays as good as it looks. He's happy with every facet of it - the design, the features, the craftmanship. It's his dream guitar! At least until he spots something else new and amazing. The man has a problem with guitars. Did I tell you that the week before the Dixie was finished, he bought a new acoustic?

Ah well - there are worse addictions in this world. Ain't nobody ever died from having too many guitars!

  2. Very Austin-some! Is that a short-scale (< 25")? This is every guitarist's dream - to have their own signature instrument. Congratulations!

    1. Awesome Zuben, thanks for the Austin-some, I'm gonna use that now just so you know... Yes it is a 24" short scale and plays hight & tight like I like it, you too can have your very own signature guitar from Moniker Guitars, it's worth a look as they have some amazing works of art on their "See" page. Keep on Rockin and we'll see you on a stage real soon!
